This young entrepreneur suffered from insomnia and made a drawing of his solution. His device was a sensation in Las Vegas and it’s available to buy now.
Supported by his parents, his idea to improve his condition has now become a technological device which was presented at CES 2022. (Photo: SRE)
Franco Canseco is 13 years old. He likes to play video games like other kids, especially Jurassic World Evolution and tennis. Franco made an impact on the world of technology with his Neutonic Band, which he presented at the 2022 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. And the idea came to him when he was only 8 years old.
The Neutonic Band is an accessory that you put on your head at eye level, preventing light getting in. It includes various technological devices to help improve sleep quality and insomnia.

Franco, aged 13, is already in his second year of high school, but it was at the age of eight when he had the idea to combat insomnia, which he captured in a drawing. He says that “his head wouldn’t stop spinning.” The solution took him to science competitions at state and national levels.
He participated in the Latin American Science Expo in 2018 and began the process of patenting his Neutonic Band with the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property (IMPI).
Neurosurgeons, neurologists, neuropediatricians, and internal medicine specialists were consulted so as to perfect the prototype and give it scientific support. His device has undergone a controlled clinical study.
He presented his idea on Shark Tank Mexico in 2019 and obtained funding to consolidate the startup. He began to sell the product in 2021.
“The best thing about this process has been helping many people sleep better, which has also had an impact on their quality of life,” the young entrepreneur told the California 18 website.
Using textile technology based on neurophysiology studies to achieve maximum comfort, the band contains four elements that contribute to achieving relaxation:
Relaxation is reached at 8 Hertz within the occipital lobe. The Neutonic Band generates a very low frequency and intensity magnetic field at that frequency in order to facilitate sleep.
It includes four acoustic projection chambers with five audio tracks scientifically designed and tested to relax using frequencies in multiples of 8 Hertz.
Textile technology controls humidity and temperature during use. It fits any head size, for anyone over the age of four. The integrated electronics don’t affect its flexibility because of its silicone design.
This is a mineral from the silicates class. Regeneration and energy balance properties have been attributed to it.
There is no need to download an app to program it or to keep it connected to a power source during use.
According to information on its web page, you can achieve a state of relaxation in a period of eight to 16 minutes.
It costs 3,800 pesos. Would you use it?
