Tecnológico de Monterrey and UNAM stand out in the top positions for engineering and management studies, according to the most recent QS World University Rankings 2020 by subject.

Based on data recently released by the higher education consulting firm, Tec de Monterrey and UNAM are among the top 6 educational institutions in Latin America for Engineering and Technology. IPN is among the top 10 in the region for these areas.

These most recent university rankings by subject were based on a comparative analysis of 13,138 university programs at 1,368 universities in 48 academic disciplines and five university areas.

For Social Sciences and Management, the Tec and UNAM are among the top 7 in the region. IPN and ITAM also stand out among Mexican universities when considering the top 20 places of the QS rankings for this category.

QS use four main metrics to compile their rankings: academic reputation, academic staff reputation, citations per faculty, and scientific productivity index.

In the area of Arts and Humanities, the Tec and UNAM stand out among the top 13 places in the region.
